Marlene McMichael Bio:
McMichael is currently Associate Vice Chancellor for Government Affairs at Texas State Technical College (TSTC) and was a recipient of the Chancellor’s Excellence Award in 2014. She handles government relations at both the state and federal levels for the ten-campus, two-year technical college.
Prior to her work with TSTC, Marlene McMichael spent much of her career working in and around the Texas Legislature. She has held senior positions with five members of the Texas House of Representatives and a state senator. For nearly seven years, she was also executive director of the largest bipartisan caucus in the Texas Legislature, then widely recognized as the most influential group within the Texas House.
McMichael is active in her community and has served on a number of non-profit boards in Austin, Georgetown, and Killeen – to include a tenure as 2012 Chairman of the Board for the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and, for the last two years, the President of the Board for the Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center. McMichael is also a current member of the Williamson County & Cities Health District Board of Directors.
